My Online ExperienceI'm a proud computer geek ?? 8)
Tainted Reverie. Yep, that's my blog. The name just popped up in my head one random day, and I decided to use it for a blog.
I wouldn't say I really like the name, but it'll do. So, my graphic-designing, site-coding career started one fine day when I was on Neopets (yes, that's kinda sad). I came across an attractive Userlookup Layout. It was the year 2004, and I had just become addicted to the computer for a whole year. A friend of mine in the third grade (I was 8 years old, a young underling, soon to have my 20/20 vision destroyed), told me about Neopets, and I started going on it everyday. Not for the games, but moreover for the userlookups (I am not weird xD). I clicked on a link that said, "this layout was made by", and was transported to a beautifully designed site, animerequiem.com. I looked at their layouts and discovered how to copy and paste them over to my layout. Before long, I learned what simple things like "br" and "p" meant in the widely used language of the computers. Although most of the HTML I know, was self-taught and self-learned, my mother (being a computer programmer) also helped me with certain things (like finally install photoshop into my computer so that I could escape the simpleton of Paint). From then on, I decided to have my own site. I created a Freewebs account and started coding. I wasn't very skilled at the time, so I relied mostly on copying and pasting codes from other tutorial sites. Obsession paved my way to success as a graphic site webmistress. By 2005, I had created a site called Angellic Anime, because of my Neopets username, angellic_feline (I was bad at spelling and now I have abandoned that site so do not bother visiting it). In school, I made a friend who shared a similar interest in graphic designing and we both developed our sites. Hers was named Foukai Yume, if my memory is still correct. My graphic site was still amateur-ish until I decided to start clean with a new graphic site in 2006, Euphoric Heart. 2007 proved an important year with my discovery of hosting. I no longer had to use the site-builder, Freewebs. I got hosted for the first time by cloud-eyes.net and rebuilt Euphoric Heart. I was foreign with the concept of uploading files directly from my computer and the helpful tool SmartFTP, but fortunately, Felicity(one of my affiliates) helped me through an online conversation. Having changed schools because of Junior High, I made another friend who enjoyed graphic-designing, Betty. After awhile, I became bored with my site and focussed more on my offline life. I had almost given up on site making until an idea popped up. A blog! A blog was something that could link my offline life with my virtual one. Before long, I got a host, Jan, and started working my ass off on my new addiction - I mean site. However, I gradually lost interest and yet again abandoned another site.
After an extremely long hiatus, of approximately two years, I am now beginning a new blog site. I can't say that I'm starting from scratch (since I still have most of my content), but I'm beginning from the start. I've nearly forgotten all about computer programming and designing, and I suddenly feel like a newbie again. What instigated my re-entrance to the blogging world was that I'm now taking computer studies as a course at school. (: Past Layouts
